Erika became hooked on birds after participating in a Christmas bird count in Montana, during which she was able to identify a Townsend’s Solitaire by its call. She has been feeding birds ever since. She is still working part time as an ophthalmic technician in retina at Froedtert. Tom has been a longtime nature lover and added birds to the list after being introduced to the hobby of backyard bird-feeding by Erika. He comes from a background of manufacturing engineering and has worked for Master Lock and Western Snowplows locally. He is now in the store fulltime. The couple hope to help support the SOS mission in their store, and they’re eager to bring in presenters on topics of interest to bird lovers. They’re also teaming up with the Zoological Society of Milwaukee and SOS Save Our Songbirds to help raise awareness of actions people can take to sustain Wisconsin’s birds.
