Save migrating birds from window collisions

Discounts, events and home solutions to prevent the deadly thuds

Up to 1 BILLION birds die every year in the United States after colliding with windows — nearly half at our home windows. Bird migration is the deadliest time, so SOS Save Our Songbirds and bird groups statewide are helping Wisconsin homeowners act now to prevent birds from flying into their home windows.

Discounts on some popular and proven effective home window solutions are available from April 1 through May 31, 2024. See below for details and special purchase codes.

Will you please join us in fixing your worst problem window for birds? The one birds hit. Reflective windows near a bird feeder, bird bath or enhanced plantings, or a window birds can see through to trees or plants on the other side are also candidates for treatment.

10% off Feather Friendly DIY deterrent markers and ABC BirdTape

Feather Friendly features a selection of adhesive markers that are applied directly to the outside of windows. When the backing is removed, a grid of dots or small squares is left behind. The markers can be removed if needed and do not cause any permanent damage to the glass. The DIY product lasts 8+ years if installed correctly; the DIY Pro product lasts 10+ years.

The company also manufactures and sells ABC BirdTape, which is a white or light blue vinyl material that can be applied to windows in long strips or in a pattern of squares. The tape lasts an average of four years, and is translucent enough to allow natural light through and not impact the view outside. Some people might prefer it to other options because it is easy to apply and customize.
