Empowering people to help birds at home is saving songbirds
Since SOS Save Our Songbirds launched in March 2023, SOS volunteers have been inspiring, informing and equipping Wisconsinites to take 3 actions at home to save songbirds. Working together with fantastic organization and business partners, generous donors, and volunteers passionate about birds, we’re saving songbirds one yard, one window and one cup of coffee at a time. These summaries of activities and impact cover periods of varying length based on grant reporting requirements.
“I told you that, just that morning, a cedar waxwing had collided head-on with my front window and died horrifically. You gave me some information about SOS, bird window collisions, and a FREE box of window tape. I was so struck by the realization that there were things I could do, easily, to save birds from that same gruesome fate. I went home and put up the decal tape.

“ The Porch Prairie event was a great introduction to container gardening and working with natives and helped me feel more confident with both. I attached a few pictures I have of my porch prairie, which has been thriving and has seen a good number of bees!
