Music Inspired by Bird Songs: A Sinnissippi Audubon Project in Collaboration with Micky Torpedo

  • JP Coughlin Center 625 East County Road Y Oshkosh, Wisconsin, 54901 United States (map)

This summer event brings together three of our favorite things: bird-inspired music, ice cream, and Smithsonian certified Bird Friendly chocolate!

Join Winnebago Audubon Society in a special afternoon presentation of music inspired by birdsong by Micky Torpedo, a multi-instrumentalist composer, producer, performer, and music educator from Rockford, IL. Torpedo has collaborated with Sinnissippi Audubon to produce three instrumental albums inspired by elements of specific bird calls. He and Jennifer Kuroda, Board President of Sinnissippi Audubon, will talk about the mission and meaning of this unique project and then Torpedo and a guest violinist will give a live performance of a few select songs.

Stay for an ice cream social after and talk to SOS Save Our Songbirds volunteer Tom Ziebell. Tom will share and answer questions about three easy ways to help songbirds at home and will give away samples of Smithsonian certified Bird Friendly coffee and chocolate.

This program is free and open to the public. Learn more from Winnebago Audubon Society.
